Coral Reef in Wooden Frame

I haven't touched my clay for the longest time! I don't mean to abandon my blog but having to work during the day time makes me lazy in the evening. Haha. I planned to make a series of them and hang them at my office but I think it will take me forever to progress as I have been caught up with work and Chinese Dumpling Festival is around the corner... I have so many things to do/plan.

I feel so sorry for my blog and FB page hence I made this - coral reef in wooden frame.

The close-up - Nothing too fancy... For the first time, I always prefer to do something easier.

The Grand Opening of Gin's Mini Pancake House

After resting for 9 months, I will start working on next Monday. Gosh... I can't believe that I have rested for 9 months! It seems like I have just resigned from my previous job yesterday! Am I ready to get back to work? Yes... I am more than ready but before I start working, I thought I would like to start a new project. Since my new job requires me to work on Saturdays, I'd better do something easier such as mini pancakes :)

I love pancakes so much, be it the sweet ones or the savoury ones. Who can say no to a plate of fluffy pancakes?

Mini Plants in Wooden Frame

As I mentioned in my previous post, I will be going back to the corporate world soon. I will be having my own room at my new workplace but one thing I don't like about the room is that it doesn't have a window that I can see what's happening outside the building. So I thought I wanted to make something more "refreshing" for my new work office.

Owl Keychain & Keychain/Necklace Holder

I don't have much updates lately. I have been busy with many things. Gosh... Most importantly, I have been busy with preparing myself for a new start. I will be going back to the corporate world in mid May after a long rest. What will happen to my mini workshop? I will still be accepting orders but I may not be able to accept urgent orders anymore.

Below are the items that I made for customers recently:

Friends - The Family You Get to Choose

Florence PM-ed me the other day and told me she would like to order a miniature set for a special friend. She said she wished to include a short message on top of the casing: Friends - The Family You Get to Choose. That's really a very meaningful message.

Florence's friend likes pink and purple hence that's the theme colours for the miniature set :)

Colourful Spring-Summer Wedding Theme

After the previous wedding themed miniature set, my cousin ordered another miniature set for another friend who is going to get married soon.

This time, we decided to make a very colourful spring-summer theme.

Happy Birthday, Florence!

How I met Florence? I got to know her when I was in Form 6. Attending Form 6 was a nightmare to me at that moment, not to mention the orientation part! However, there was one particular classmate of mine who always carried a big bright smile whenever I saw her. She shared to me her experience of living away from home, how she had to eat "babi ber-carrot" (pork cooked with carrot) everyday and how she missed home... As a person who had never left home before, I admired her. I love her stories! After a few months, I got an offer from a polytechnic and left Form 6 but I still kept in touch with Florence by writing letters. How amazing, right? We didn't have any mobile phones, email addresses or FB last time but we still managed to keep in touch!

When we entered the mobile phones era, she was studying in Penang while I was in Malacca. I remember I called her once and while talking to her, I could hear the sound of water running from the water tap and the brushing sound. I jokingly asked Florence - You can't be washing toilets as part-time eh? She answered - Eh, I am really washing toilet as part-time now! How do you know that? I was like - OMG! That was so hilarious! Haha.

Several years ago, I gave Florence some roses cupcakes as birthday gift. To my surprise, she didn't eat the cupcakes! She kept them inside the fridge! She said she couldn't bear to eat the beautiful cupcakes. So this year, I decided to make her cakes that she can keep forever :)
