Hello Kitty Cake

When I just received this order, I was in dilemma. Should I or should I not? If you have been following my clay stuff from the very beginning, you'll realize that I rarely do cartoon characters. I will avoid as much as I can. It's not that I don't like cartoon characters. It's just that it's so difficult to make it 100% alike.

I tried to look for ideas on the Internet. The more I looked, the more reluctant I was. Oh, no... How can I avoid doing the cat's face but still people will know it's Hello Kitty? Not possible... Hmmm...

Goodbye, Florence!

Florence, a good friend of mine, will be leaving KK soon. She is going back to a place where she can find great Indian food. Kekeke~

Pink & Purple Cuppies

After thinking for some time, I decided to fix the theme colours of my mini cake house as pink and purple.

Putting the cuppies onto the shelves now! Yes, I know the last shelf hasn't been filled up yet. I am gonna fill it up with something else.

Mini Cabinet - Version 2.0

Ever since I made my first wooden shelves with the wood plaques I bought from Daiso, friends keep telling me that it needs to be smoothened by using sand papers. Well, not that I don't know but I just wanted to keep it "raw" as I am thinking to make something else to replace it. 

I had things playing in my mind but I wasn't sure if it's going to work. I made a draft of a cabinet and started doing it over the weekend.

Experimenting With Something Different

I am thinking of a way to refine/improve them. Hmmm...

Will be back after doing some research.

The Fruity Miniature Set

This is a miniature set ordered by a daughter for her mum's coming birthday. As per the customers, her mum likes anything fruity hence this miniature set is born :)

Happy Birthday, Florence!

How I met Florence? I got to know her when I was in Form 6. Attending Form 6 was a nightmare to me at that moment, not to mention the orientation part! However, there was one particular classmate of mine who always carried a big bright smile whenever I saw her. She shared to me her experience of living away from home, how she had to eat "babi ber-carrot" (pork cooked with carrot) everyday and how she missed home... As a person who had never left home before, I admired her. I love her stories! After a few months, I got an offer from a polytechnic and left Form 6 but I still kept in touch with Florence by writing letters. How amazing, right? We didn't have any mobile phones, email addresses or FB last time but we still managed to keep in touch!

When we entered the mobile phones era, she was studying in Penang while I was in Malacca. I remember I called her once and while talking to her, I could hear the sound of water running from the water tap and the brushing sound. I jokingly asked Florence - You can't be washing toilets as part-time eh? She answered - Eh, I am really washing toilet as part-time now! How do you know that? I was like - OMG! That was so hilarious! Haha. 

Several years ago, I gave Florence some roses cupcakes as birthday gift. To my surprise, she didn't eat the cupcakes! She kept them inside the fridge! She said she couldn't bear to eat the beautiful cupcakes. So this year, I decided to make her cakes that she can keep forever :)

Pink and Purple Wedding Miniatures

During a CNY family gathering, my cousin told me that her friend will be getting married soon and she would like to order a miniature set for her friend. Since her friend doesn't have any particular favourite colours, we agreed to use the very typical girlish colours for the miniature set - pink and purple!

When I was preparing my wedding 4 years ago, I always dreamt of having a tall, elegant and beautiful wedding cake. However, due to budget constraint, my dream never came true. That's why I love doing miniature wedding cake because I am allowed to incorporate my creativity and dreams into it.

The Classic Dim Sum

When I just started the dim sum project, many asked me to make har kaw and siew mai but I told them I wanna save the best for last. Does it mean this is my last batch of dim sum? Erm, not really... I guess I will keep doing dim sum till Chinese New Year but I am currently out of ideas of what kind of dim sum I am supposed to make :p
